Origins and Delivery
According to Biblical accounts, the Ten Commandments were miraculously inscribed by God Himself upon two tablets of stone.
These tablets were then entrusted to Moses atop Mount Sinai, where he had ascended to receive the Law from God.
The Ten Commandments, also known as the Decalogue in Latin or the Ten Words in Hebrew, became a fundamental pillar of the Abrahamic religions.
They were delivered to the Israelites as part of the covenant between God and His chosen people.
